Progress update! Psychonauts 2 has been in development for a little over a year now, its crowdfunding campaign having launched at The Game Awards at the end of 2015, but now there’s a little extra financial clout behind the project, with Starbreeze Studios coming to act as the game’s publisher with an investment of $8 million.
With Zak McClendon, Project Lead, alongside him, Tim Schafer then gave us a sneak peak at Psychonauts 2 in action. It features a test level set in a quarry, using this area as an art test for how the quarry will look like in the final game. It looks really pretty.
Psychonauts 2 is planned for release in 2018, but isn’t the only game in the works, with Psychonauts in the Rhombus of Ruin a PlayStation VR exclusive coming out on 21st February.
