Ape Out Smashes Its Way To PC And Consoles This Summer

Devolver Digital has announced that it will be publishing Gabe Cuzzillo’s Ape Out, a smash ’em up where players control an ape as it bids for freedom. This is done by smashing through obstacles and people, as well as using them as shields until freedom is found, or the ape is taken out. Ape Out features procedurally generated maps so you can’t memorise the path to escape.

Devolver Digital’s Fork Parker is particularly happy about this release.

“Since I was a little boy one of my hobbies has been to secretly set zoo animals free and watch them run rampant, killing their captors in the most violent ways possible. Ape Out captures that childlike sense of wonder in a very profound and meaningful way and also adds a drum beat.”

A price is yet to be confirmed for the game and those attending PAX East will be able to get a chance to play the game. For those not going there’s a playable trailer above.
