Wednesday will mark the one year anniversary of the HTC Vive’s launch that, alongside the Oculus Rift just days before, signalled the first time that this current crop of virtual reality headsets were widely available to the public.
To celebrate, HTC have a few things in the works, with a £100 discount on the HTC Vive on 5th April, and customers old and new able to redeem a free copy of Vive Studios’ Arcade Saga action game. 2Bears Studios’ game features three mini-games based off pinball, table tennis and archery, each of which can be played in head to head online or in a campaign mode, with a variety of levels to master and room-scale boss fights.
Beyond that, HTC are also launching Viveport Subscription, which features both VR games and productivity apps. For a £6.99 montly fee, you can pick five apps from the service’s library of curated content, rotating them in and out each month, if you wish. Vive owners can make use of a free one month trial by registering at Viveport.
