I couldn’t help but dream up a footballing spin off to the Naruto series when I saw the title to Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Strikers, and I was actually a little saddened to see that it’s just another fighting game…
Announced today for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, and developed by Soleil Ltd., this is a 4v4 online fighting game first and foremost, though a co-op mode is also included. It’s been built in a new graphics engine, which promises to get even closer to the anime visuals its based on. There’s no release date announced yet, but you can enjoy this rather pretty new trailer.
Alongside this, Bandai Namco are rejuvenating the Ultimate Ninja Storm game series, remastering the first three games series and bundling them up in two new collections, both of which will be made available this autumn.
Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Legacy collects all four games in the series together and brings them to retail in a special edition that includes a metal case, Naruto art book and bonus anime disc. Meanwhile, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Trilogy is a digital only compilation of the first three games, likely geared toward those who picked up the fourth and final game when it released last year.
