In what is surely one of the most disappointing release date announcements of all time, Friday the 13th: The Game isn’t releasing on an actual Friday the 13th. While it is a Friday, Gun Media and IllFonic have instead settled for 26th May.
You can tell that they tried, what with 26 being 13 multiplied by two, but it’s just not the same. To be fair, to land on a 13th of the month that’s also a Friday, they would have either had to have launched back in January or waited another five months until October.
The date announcement trailer above goes a fair bit beyond just shouting a date at you and actually shows a decent amount of the gameplay, with multiplayer that can feature up to seven teens trying desperately to escape Jason Voorhees’ murderous clutches. The game is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

Really looking forward to this. Dabbled with the PC beta and thought it was great fun.

Rather have it on the 26th than an earlier date. Been waiting ages for this. Looks a right scream.

Am i missing something with the tagline:-
“Not a Friday and not the 13th.”
The title itself says that the 26th is a Friday????

And it is. Slight oversight perhaps.
