It’s fair to say of the recent Sonic games announced it is Sonic Mania that has received a majority of the limelight, being a throwback to the early era of the blue hedgehog. On the flip side is Sonic Forces, a more modern focus on the series as Sonic races through locations destroyed by Dr Eggman’s creations. It appears to be quite a dystopian direction for the series.
However SEGA has today announced that classic Sonic gameplay is in Sonic Forces too, and released footage of him racing through Green Hill Zone. It looks okay but it doesn’t do much to steal the thunder from Mania.
Sonic Forces will be available on PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC later this year.
