Kylotonn’s revival of the WRC series continues with WRC 7, the official game of the 2017 FIA World Rally Championship, which has just been announced for release this autumn. It’s coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC via Steam.
It’s all change in the WRC this year, as while the cars still feature a 1.6L turbo-charged engine, the restrictor on the turbo has been made wider, allowing for a huge step up in brake horse power, going from 310 bhp to 380 bhp. That’s just one factor, alongside more freedom within the car’s aerodynamics, that adds up to much more powerful and much faster cars.

I missed out the last game as I bought Seb Loeb’s Rally and Dirt Rally VR (which is the best rally game I’ve played in years). This year I’ve got Dirt 4, GT Sport and Project Cars 2 pre-ordered so this years game is at the back of a big queue.
It’s a shame as it’s looking like a very good game. There’s just not enough ‘gaming time’ to be able to play all the games I want to.

I could be tempted with this over DiRT 4, just for the change. Well, I also found DiRT Rally to be a bit dull – a lot of the stages were boring and repeated sections, plus there were only a few locations.

Don’t do it.
