Uncharted Movie To Be Prequel To Games, Tom Holland Attached To Play Nathan Drake

Here we are once again. More news has come out in the Uncharted movie saga, and this information changes the scope of the project. Before it seemed like Sony was trying to adapt the Uncharted games for the movie screen, a move that has proven difficult to put into practice. Now, according to Deadline, that idea has been ditched by Sony Pictures to focus on a prequel to the games, starring a young Nathan Drake.

And the actor tied to the role of Nathan Drake at the moment is current Spider-Man Tom Holland, who will get his first full feature film as the webslinger in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Apparently this story will expand upon how Drake and Victor Sullivan came to team up, something which was briefly shown in Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception.

  1. No.

Also: How does that work with this from three months ago?

“When I wrote “Uncharted,” I didn’t spare the rod. I wrote it the way the video game is. They swear in the game, they’re kinda foul-mouthed and I kept all that stuff intact and I definitely didn’t write it as a “PG-13” movie, I wrote it the way that movie should be written,” said Joe Carnahan (Writer of Uncharted movie)

*edit* Oh theyve dropped that script as well.

  2. That sounds…wait, what? A prequel to the games? As in, what Uncharted 3 and 4 did? As in, they really think that Drake needs more things from his past? Huh?

So instead of doing one of his adventures(which, i assume is safe to assume that he has had a ton of them), they want to do a prequel as young drake.

    As in, young drake who…..

It’s going to have shitty dubstep, CGI spam, lensflare spam and be shitty isn’t it?

  3. Please no! I haven’t seen Spider-Man yet but I just know I dislike this guy already. He tries too hard to be liked from when I see him on anything.

  4. I read that as Tom Hollander….

  5. Oh well :(

  6. Gay.
