Square Enix And People Can Fly Announce New Game Partnership

People Can Fly might have most recently been in the news with their remaster and enhancement of Bulletstorm for the latest generation of console, but if you thought this would spark the start of a partnership with Gearbox Software, who acted as publisher and let them borrow Duke Nukem, you were mistaken. Instead, Square Enix and People Can Fly have entered into a new partnership with a new AAA title in the works.

Lee Singleton, Head of Studio at Square Enix London Studios said, “We’re massively excited to be working with the talented team at PCF in Warsaw, a studio filled with people who really know their craft. We’re building a game we all want to play which will be the perfect addition to our portfolio.”

However, it sounds like this partnership is still rather early on. This game has no public presence and the press release notes that it will not feature in Square Enix’s E3 2017 lineup, but with Square Enix having a multi-game deal signed with Marvel, it would make sense for People Can Fly to be working on one of these games.

Considering Square’s recent move to close or sell IO Interactive, it’s certainly surprising to see.
