Some Chap Called Cristiano Ronaldo Is FIFA 18’s Cover Star

That Cristiano Ronaldo fellow has had a pretty good year. He was the Portuguese team’s talisman as they won Euro 2016 last July (despite suffering a knee injury), taking the UEFA Best Player in Europe award in the process, he won the Balon d’Or for the fourth time and the FIFA Best Men’s Player award, passed the 400 goals mark for Real Madrid, and won his fourth Champions League title last weekend, while scoring in his third final and scoring his 600th goal across his professional career.

He’s quite good at football, it seems. So good that he’s going to be the cover star for FIFA 18 and EA are releasing a special Ronaldo Edition alongside, which will give you a digital version of the striker in FIFA Ultimate Team.

It beats me why EA went with the American spelling of fuelled, despite FIFA having a limited reach in the US, but more baffling is who this Ronald chap is that Sony talked about.

Oops!

Alongside the bonanza of Ronald(o), there’s another Ronaldo you might want on your team, with the Icon Edition giving you a 5-match Ultimate Team loan of Ronaldo Nazario. It would seem that the Legends exclusivity period for Xbox One has expired, or EA managed to find some way to wriggle out of it…

FIFA 18 will see The Journey story mode continue with even higher production values, with EA revealing what they’ve been up to at EA Play on Saturday 10th June. Honestly, I’m probably a little more curious to see and hear what the Nintendo Switch version of the game is like.

  1. Never heard of him. Looks like ‘The Ugly’ that jumped out of some bad spaghetti western.

  2. Wasn’t he the bloke who fought Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania? :P

Oh yeah, Fifa has a story mode. It…. beats the WWE current career modes. Football does that better then a wrestling game.

    ……..

I’m surprised that they didn’t find a way to get David Beckham in.

That said, did anyone see that ludcrious display last night?
