Collect Pokémon Gold & Silver On 3DS Virtual Console On 22nd September

The virtual console releases of Pokémon Red, Blue and Yellow were very popular at the end of 2015, giving a little kick of nostalgia that laid the groundwork for the vast successes of Pokémon Go and Pokémon Sun and Moon in 2016. Now Nintendo are pulling on those fond memories of the first few generations of game once more, as Pokémon Gold and Silver are coming to 3DS Virtual Console on 22nd September.

As with Red, Blue and Yellow, it does with Pokémon Bank support, allowing you to collect ’em all in the classic games and then bring those Pokémon forward through the ages to join your team in the latest games, which will include Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon in November. You’ll also have access to the wireless communication features of the 3DS, allowing for Link Trades and Link Battles locally, and the Time Capsule function will let you trade with the VC version of Red, Blue and Yellow.

  1. I’m happy my favorite games are returning to Virtual Console. I loved going back to Kanto 3 years after the events of Red, Blue and Yellow.

  2. My favourite Pokémon generation. Shame about the lack of Crystal but I never played Gold back in the day so I’ll take the chance.
