Naughty Dog Releases Over Nine Minutes Worth Of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy Gameplay Footage

The Uncharted series is set to continue this summer with Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, the spinoff that stars Chloe and Nadine as they travel to India in search of the artifact known as the Tusk of Ganesha. The initial reveal showed some gameplay as Chloe ventured through a war torn part of India before meeting up with Nadine, and we got a new story trailer of the duo at Sony’s E3 2017 conference.

Today Naughty Dog has released over nine minutes of footage showing what Uncharted: The Lost Legacy will play like. Feast your eyes below.

From the heady days of the Mega Drive up until the modern day gaming has been my main hobby. I'll give almost any game a go.

  1. Anybody else consider cancelling their pre-order after seeing the video? Lazy gameplay and nothing new. Even Chloe appeared to be using the exact same climbing mechanics as Drake. And then a generic bad guy turns up at the end, says some words and points a gun.

    • To be fair though it looks like everything you might expect from an Uncharted game and given that it’s an expansion on the current series i wouldn’t expect them to change up the formula too much. I shall be examining Chloe’s climbing mechanics as closely as the game allows.

  2. I like it, although it did look a tad too linear. Uncharted 4’s best moments were when you were thrown into a huge adventure playground with guns, and not when you were being railroaded between set points. Hopefully the whole thing isn’t like that. Its also nice that they’ve added the DLC weapons from the multiplayer.

    • I’m not sure that I’ll bother with this. There were far too many railroad moments in Uncharted 4 for my liking & nowhere near enough gun battles.

I tried doing a second play through when I got a pro & a new 4k TV, but gave up in the end – bored me the first play through, let alone trying a second time. Just found myself jumping on rooftops saying “not this again”, then climbing the tower at the prison once again repeating “not this again”. I think I made it to the old pirate place where you have to climb & roam around the ruins etc & just turned it off.

      • Oh, and before that… the boating around the islands became pretty dam painful to do for a second time too. It’s only the visuals that kept me going.

      • Yeah, U4 is an OK adventure the first time around, but on replaying, it has too many “not this again” moments. I wish the game was a little bit more light-hearted as well, but hey, they really tried to make it more serious and depressing…

Seeing U:TLL this E3, I’m not sure I’m super excited for the game because some of the environments and shots look almost exactly like U4. Especially when they showed that jeep scene, I thought “oh, so this is U4 but reskinned”. Hopefully it’s at least fun.

      • Yeah, There’s only so much of the greenery & ruins I can take as far as Uncharted is concerned. I don’t mind it in TLOU so much, as it’s a different style.

If anyones listening Naughty Dog, it would be nice to have a completely different background/scenery to see in ND fashion if you’re making a new IP. Possibly something futurist which involves spaceships etc… not apocalyptic style stuff though, Horizon’s done that. Cheers ;)

  3. They’re all great games but 3 & 4 were definitely lacking in the ‘fun’ department.

Uncharted was great when it didn’t take itself too seriously – we have TLoU for that.

I know everyone loves the second game but I still think the first one is the best.

    • I prefer the first too. I think it’s down to the locations and atmosphere – A bit more horror like. Still loved the 2nd one too though. Really enjoyed playing through the remasters again which i wasn’t too sure about at first.

As for 3 & 4 – I just found them boring, and like you say, less fun (story included). It may be down to a location thing again as well.
