Just a short and sweet update for fans of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, as the game has been updated to accommodate today’s release of the first DLC, titled The Master Trials. It’s a two part update for those who have already bought into the DLC, first updating the main game and then the DLC itself, which pop up when you next launch the game, and it’s available now for both Nintendo Switch and Wii U.
The Master Trials adds a harder difficulty level to the game, beefing up every enemy by one rank, putting them in new places (including on floating platforms in the sky!), and generally making the game tougher. There’s more to this DLC pack though, with the Trial of the Sword that pits you against wave after wave of enemy, and plenty of new tools such as the Travel Medallion temporary fast travel point, Hero’s Path Mode for the map, and so on.
The brief patch notes are as follows:
- Expansion Pass: DLC Pack 1 “The Master Trials” is now available. If you have already pre-purchased this content, you can now play it by updating both the DLC and the software. You can update your purchased DLC through Nintendo eShop.
- Various fixes to improve gameplay.
Back at E3, Nintendo also revealed the first little hints over what will be included in the second DLC pack, titled The Champion’s Ballad, which is coming out this winter.
