As with all online games Friday the 13th has it fair share of trolls and muppets who find it amusing to be abusive and ruin the fun. With that in mind the developers have taken to Reddit to list what is not acceptable which, considering the brutal nature of the game, includes “threats of violence”.
- Deliberate Third-Party Hacking Software – Anyone caught with automation/speed/wall hacking and other third party macro systems to give them an edge in-game will result in a ban
- Threats of Violence/Rape/Sexual Assault – Those using Voice Chat to threaten and harass other users with threats of sexual violence, rape and domestic violence to a degree unsuitable for social standards will result in a ban.
- Racism/Discrimination – Those caught being racist or discriminatory to others will result in a ban.
- Deliberately Helping Jason – This one is trickier; we will ban the Jason player and those helping Jason for deliberately ‘helping’ Jason win a match through killing other teammates or working to farm XP.
- Deliberate Abuse of Exploits – Exploit usage that results in the deliberate griefing of others to gain an advantage and overall reduce enjoyment for other players will result in a ban.
- Do Not Pretend to be an Employee of Gun Media or IllFonic – Anyone utilizing usernames that attempt to act as a member of our team or speaks in-game as an employee of our team will result in a ban.
- Do Not Spam Report Those You Do Not Like – Reporting users needs to be constructive; we do not ban for team-killing. Please only report those you are certain of cheating or exploiting. We will eventually ignore requests from those excessively reporting other users for actions that do not fall within these guidelines.
The devs say you will need to show video evidence of foul play, but stress you can swear you way to high heaven over voice chat, that is perfectly acceptable. “Have that outlet, have fun, go murder counselors in-game…get weird all you want, but if you believe spouting hatred and bigotry towards others and sexually harassing people is acceptable behavior, then please do not buy our game.”

The first rule of Friday the 13th club… No deliberate third party hacking software.
I mean yeah, some of these rules make sense but my God of War, are they making a game or a simulation of living in North Korea.

Some of the rules make sense?
They all make sense. Although could number 4 be open to abuse? If you want to get someone banned, you just have to help Jason. Presumably it involves pressing X. And once you’ve helped Jason, you can get them banned. Although you’d then get banned as well, which could be an issue depending on how they’re banning people.

And which of them is not making sense?

Having someone ask me to spare them in exchange for info on their fellow survivors was probably one of my fav moments of this game.
If the player/Jason team-up then that should be ban-able.
