Nintendo Switch Servers Go Offline Ahead Of Planned Maintenance [Update: Back Online]

A double whammy of server downtime for those looking to get in a few rounds of Splatoon 2 in the wee hours of the night in the UK or the evening in the US, as the Nintendo Switch servers have been experiencing technical difficulties since midnight UK time.

Update 2AM 27/02: The Nintendo support site is now reporting the servers are back online, though scheduled maintenance is due at 5AM again. Now I really am going to sleep.

It’s put the kibosh on any kind of multiplayer gaming for the time being, but network maintenance was already planned for the near future anyway, running from 5AM to 10AM in the UK. This is going to affect all three current Nintendo platforms – Switch, 3DS and Wii U – though Nintendo only say it will affect “some” services.
