There weren’t any big new releases last week to challenge the bandicoot, and so Crash spent another week at the top of the UK charts. That makes it the PS4 exclusive with the longest spell on the top spot, which is just a bit ridiculous when you consider the breadth and depth of PS4 games out there. No wonder Activision are contemplating more nostalgia laden remakes.
In fact, it’s all a bit boring this week because of it. I think the most interesting thing might be that behind Crash and the perennial GTA V, you had a trio of Bethesda games in third, fourth and fifth. Good for them.

Hopefully bringing us one step closer to a Spyro remake.
Starman
Fallout 4, Doom and Dishonoured 2 are all in Game’s console bundles, so that probably explains the sales boost. They’re also about £10 in most shops too.

FO4 and Dishonored2 are also in GAME’s current “Buy 2 get 1 free” Bethesda promo too. Picked up Fallout4, Dishonored2 and The Elder Scrolls Online for £20. Crazy prices!

2017 has been one of the strangest years in gaming I can remember:
1. Crash Bandicoot making his return and overshadowing everything else
2. Patapon Remastered
3. Resident Evil bringing back the horror (and actually meaning it this time!)
4. Nintendo’s new system selling like hotcakes
5. The new Mass Effect being a POS
6. Guerilla Games releasing a new IP which is better than Killzone
7. Mario controlling Dinosaurs with his hat
8. Uncharted DLC is shaping up to be better than the base game
Weird, weird year.
