Brink Is Still A Thing And Is Now F2P, Does Not Include Bonus Chicken Portions

The PC version of Brink has quietly gone free-to-play on Steam. Developed by Splash Damage the game had good reviews when it launched (we gave it 9/10) but after topping the charts it quickly fell away in to obscurity, partly because it was riddled with bugs. In the intervening years a lot has changed, most notabley that Splash Damage were bought by a Chinese chicken supplier, Leyou. That’s as in ‘a supplier of poultry products in China’, not ‘a company that makes delicious Chinese Chicken’.

Back in 2012 Splash Damage discussed their move towards free-to-play products which include the popular Dirty Bomb on PC, so while unexpected, the move to make Brink free-to-play is in line with their new strategy. Currently the game does not include any micro-transactions but you can still buy the DLC.

  1. Brink was good but as you said, had far too many issues. Enjoyed it a lot for the short period of time I played it.

  2. I got Brink for £5 from a closing down sale at blockbuster, and that’s about all it was worth. Nobody online either. Garbage.
