Battlefield 1 In The Name Of The Tsar DLC Releases 19th September, Adds HDR Support

There’s been a long, long build up to Battlefield 1’s second major DLC pack, and many people have been able to play pre-release versions of maps and other content for a while now, as DICE put it through the wringer in their Community Test Environment, which recently came to consoles.

Now we finally have a release date for In the Name of the Tsar: 19th September. That date is a little white lie, however, as Premium Pass owners will get a two week head start, inviting them to the Eastern Front on 5th September instead.

The expansion includes six new maps – Taritsyn, Volga River, Lupkow Pass, Albion, Galicia and Brusilov Keep – new Operations, new weapons, vehicles, the new Supply Drop game mode, the Hussars and the Russian Army, which includes the Women’s Battalion of Death.

However, there’s one little bonus for all players of the game, as HDR10 support is being added with the accompanying game update on 5th September. It’s been mooted ever since launch, especially as both Microsoft and Sony have been pushing HDR with their consoles, and we will finally see the fruits of their labour. HDR will be supported on both consoles and Windows PC.
