After a few shockingly bad limited edition controllers for Destiny 2 and football (don’t ask), Sony are back on track with the kind of retro that I can get behind. There had already been a “crystal” translucent DualShock 4 released last year, but now the classic 90s style is coming back and with more colours and with the updated design that debuted alongside the PS4 Slim.
As well as the translucent white controller, you can now get blue and red, letting you collect a French flag of see through controllers, all of which will be released on 17th October. Well, it will if you live in the right part of the world, anyway. The Crystal range is not available in Russia and the red and blue variants aren’t available in the UK, which echoes the lack of UK availability for the PlayStation FC limited edition controller.
I guess Sony have decided that the British don’t want to buy limited edition controllers? Maybe they think we don’t want a French Flag of DualShock 4’s (despite the fact they’re the same colours as in the Union Jack)? Maybe they think we’re all (crystal) white supremacists? Who knows, but I say it’s stupid.
