Burnout Paradise Is Coming To PlayStation 4 (Probably)

A few weeks ago a Brazilian retailer listed a Burnout Paradise for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with a release date of March 2018. We cautioned against getting too excited as it was just one retailer and EA have always said they would not do remasters.

Now a second listing for Burnout Paradise on PS4 has been listed in Japan, again with a release date of March. Therefore I am withdrawing any warning about getting excited. Squeeeee! Burnout Paradise! Hurray!

Hopefully EA will be making some sort of announcement in the near future but if this does turn out be retailers listing games that don’t exist I suggest we grab our pitch forks and flaming torches and storm EA and force them to make the game.

UPDATE: It has now been confirmed that Burnout Paradise, or Burnout Paradise HD Remaster as it will be known, will be released for PlayStation 4 in Japan on March 16th. We expect EA to announce other formats and a release dates for the rest of the world in due course. Thanks to homerjnick for the heads up!

UPDATE 2: Sorry, we may have jumped the gun a little early. I’ve had a look around and I can’t see that EA themselves have confirmed the game. The sites that are saying it is confirmed are referencing a tweet which isn’t from an official EA account so I’m not sure why they are suggesting this is a done deal.

  1. Burnout Paradise is the Burnout game for people who preferred the Need for Speed series compared to Burnout.

I’d still buy it, but Burnout 3 was peak Burnout, and Burnout Legends on PSP the next best game.

  2. Not for me, this was my introduction to open world racing and it put me right off.

  3. Ahh bollocks, Update 2 is crushing news!

  4. It was a great game back then, no doubt, and I loved it. But given I still have my PS3 around, and can play the original with it’s perfect low resolution, this artificial remaster doesn’t really interest me.
