Burnout Paradise Is Coming To PlayStation 4 (Probably)

A few weeks ago a Brazilian retailer listed a Burnout Paradise for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with a release date of March 2018. We cautioned against getting too excited as it was just one retailer and EA have always said they would not do remasters.

Now a second listing for Burnout Paradise on PS4 has been listed in Japan, again with a release date of March. Therefore I am withdrawing any warning about getting excited. Squeeeee! Burnout Paradise! Hurray!

Hopefully EA will be making some sort of announcement in the near future but if this does turn out be retailers listing games that don’t exist I suggest we grab our pitch forks and flaming torches and storm EA and force them to make the game.

UPDATE: It has now been confirmed that Burnout Paradise, or Burnout Paradise HD Remaster as it will be knownwill be released for PlayStation 4 in Japan on March 16th. We expect EA to announce other formats and a release dates for the rest of the world in due course. Thanks to homerjnick for the heads up!

UPDATE 2: Sorry, we may have jumped the gun a little early. I’ve had a look around and I can’t see that EA themselves have confirmed the game. The sites that are saying it is confirmed are referencing a tweet which isn’t from an official EA account so I’m not sure why they are suggesting this is a done deal.

  1. Seems like a no brainer. People have been asking for a new Burnout for ages and I’m sure an HD re-release of, arguably, the game’s best entry will scratch that itch.

  2. Oh…my…god…

  3. Come on EA, do it! How could you not remaster the best game on the PS3? Dooo iiit!

    • You SSX3 is coming to PS4 remastered???

  4. I enjoyed it at the time, but it was kind of ground breaking at the time.

Now we’ve all played countless clones, I reckon it’ll be kind of meh.

Might give this one a miss for fear of ruining the fond memories.

  5. I’ve been playing B3: Takedown over Christmas to see if I just see the game in nostalgia-tone.

I don’t. It’s still amazing and superior to Paradise. Regardless, I hope it sells well enough to keep interest alive in Burnout, but not so well that any future return to the series must insist on open-world in order to be green-lit.

  6. YESSS! I’m so excited, it’ll look incredible. Let’s hope Bikes and Big Surf is all included, and the original soundtrack, it’ll be dated but it was so, so good. Is it too much to hope for some sort of crash mode addition? Yeah it is isn’t it, I’ll go and have a cold shower and lower my expectations… I still can’t wait!!!

  7. Aw hell yeah!!!!!
Going to put on Paradise tune right now to get in the mood (and to get ready for pub) lol

  8. Tenth anniversary this month, so the timing of this announcement would be perfect, if true.

  9. EA HAS SHOWN ME TIME AND TIME AGAIN (/AS OF LATE ) THEY DON’T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING WHEN IT COMES TO CAR/DRIVING GAMES .. SECONDLY THEY DON’T SEEM TO UNDERSTAND THAT CUSTOMERS/FANS WOULD LIKE CERTAIN GAMES REMASTERED !
