Ubisoft have revealed the Far Cry 5 season pass today, and in addition to the expected content expansions, there’s a pretty good reason to consider getting it if you’re a fan of the series: it bundles in Far Cry 3 Classic Edition, which updates the hit game for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Now don’t freak out about it being locked in as part of a season pass you don’t want for a game you don’t care about, because it’s not! While you can get it bundled in with the Far Cry 5 season pass sometime this summer, it’s also coming as a separate standalone release four weeks later. Ubisoft are clearly stating that you just get a bit of a head start.
If you’re on PC, you get a standard copy of Far Cry 3 and can get that Classic Edition experience by boosting the game resolution to 4K on the latest graphics cards.
Aside from that, the season pass still has three weird and wonderful sounding expansions that add a little hint of Blood Dragons’ nonsense into the mix:
- Hours of Darkness: Players will travel back in time to Vietnam to battle against Việt Cộng soldiers
- Dead Living Zombies: Players will face hordes of zombies in multiple b-movie scenarios
- Lost on Mars: Players will leave Earth behind to go toe-to-claws with Martian arachnids
The price of the season pass hasn’t been revealed just yet, but it’s part of the Gold Edition bundle on the Xbox and PlayStation Stores. That edition costs £69.99 to the base game’s £54.99.
Here’s a new trailer for the game’s story:
