Ubisoft have revealed that they’ll be revealing the reveal of the next Far Cry game with a reveal trailer at the 2018 Game Awards. Which is probably more revealing than I can handle in the middle of Thursday night.
Judging from the teaser of the forthcoming reveal trailer, perhaps some sort of post-apocalyptic ‘Mad Max’ style setting is on the cards? Either way, a buzz-saw firing crossbow looks like an awesome addition to any mass-murdering video game protagonists arsenal.
Here’s the teaser:
You can tune into the Game Awards, live on December 6, at 5:30PM PST/8:30PM EST/1:30AM GMT. Or, if you’d rather the beauty sleep, you’ll find all the news right here on TheSixthAxis when you awake fresh as a daisy in the morning.

Love Far Cry, but a post apocalypse zombie setting sounds a bit naff. Been done sooooooo many times before.

Can’t wait to see what it’s going to be huge fan of Far Cry game’s. I hope we also see a new Watch Dogs reveal trailer too.

I enjoy the series but they release a little too frequently for me and I’m starting to get behind.
Last one I finished was Far Cry 4 and I think I got aroud halfway through Primal before putting it down for a while.

Hmm looks a bit like another one of those games in the Far Cry series where they take the last one, put a load of ridiculous stuff in it, then flog it as a new game.

In fairness Far Cry Blood Dragon was like that and it was pretty great!

A strategy that gave us the wonderful Blood Dragon and the almost as entertaining Primal.
Although the DLC for FC5 covered the “put a load of ridiculous stuff in” thing anyway.
Jumping to conclusions from that tiny teaser trailer, I’m guessing they’ve just taken the FC5 map and nuked it. Saves building a new map. (Same thing they did with FC4/Primal).
Could it even be a sort of sequel to FC5? Solves the problem of anyone complaining they’ve just recycled the map.
JR.
Hopefully it will be like Judgement day and killer machines with laser guns. That’s the kind of thing we want from these spin offs, not more of the same blandness that was Far Cry 4 & 5.
If this is just humans and mutated humans battling it out in a post-nuclear world, well… we already have Fallout.
