NBA player James Harden has been spotted wearing a hat with what appears to be the logo for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, or to be precise, Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII. Kotaku’s Jason Schreier has since tweeted that a source has confirmed to him that this is the official logo for the game.
Evidently Activision don’t know how roman numerals work, but there is precedent for this sort of thing because American’s are stupid, or at least marketing departments think they are. The American distributor of the film The Madness of King George III demanded that the roman numerals were removed from the title as American’s may have thought that the film was the third in the series and they had missed the first two instalments.

Though I’m 100% sure it wasn’t intentional, using IIII for 4 in Roman numerals is not entirely incorrect. The Romans actually use both, but IV was preferred over IIII as it was easier to differentiate from III. Essentially the whole thing was a mess, but on the plus side it’s almost impossible to be wrong when using Roman numerals because of it

What a ground breaking and forward thinking logo! Wonder how much Activision paid to have it ‘developed’?!
