Excited for Red Dead Redemption 2? Want another trailer to whet your appetite for a return to the Wild West? Well, Rockstar have now released their third trailer for the game that’s still due out on 26th October for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
This trailer’s all about the game’s story, which takes players back to 1899 America and the end of the Wild West era. A robbery goes wrong in the town of Blackwater, forcing Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang to flee, trying to avoid the long arm of the law and bounty hunters chasing them down.
There’s plenty of other snippets to see in the video, including glimpses of the melee combat system, various characters and the rather nuanced facial animation on show. It’s no real surprise, but with this being Rockstar’s first game built specifically for PS4 and Xbox One, it looks simply gorgeous.
As much as this is about the single player, there’s also big expectations of what the multiplayer game can deliver. The first Red Dead Redemption really laid the foundations for the money-spinning juggernaut that is GTA Online, and Red Dead Redemption 2 will likely try to take that even further. Reports a few months ago suggest that the game will be hopping onto the Battle Royale bandwagon, alongside game modes like Revive and Survive and Money Grab.
