A fresh dose of Lord of the Rings story is coming to Middle-earth: Shadow of War is coming out later this month, as the Desolation of Mordor DLC comes out on 18th May.
The cinematic trailer highlights Baranor, the captain of Minas Ithil, who’s been reunited with his brother Serka after the fall of the city. They have to team up to combat the Orc threat to the east, battling through the deserts of Lithlad and taking down the Marauder fortress of Shindrâm.
The expansion can be bought as part of the game’s expansion pass for £32.99, which also includes the Blade of Galadriel story expansion, Slaughter Tribe Nemesis and Outlaw Tribe Nemesis. Alternatively, there’s the £19.99 story expansion or it can be had standalone for £15.99.
Warner Bros. announced last month that they would be removing the system of microtransactions from Middle-earth: Shadow of War, which drew a lot of criticism around the game’s launch. The ability to buy in-game Gold will be removed prior to this DLC’s release on 8th May, before the system as a whole is removed later in the summer. Find out more about the change here.
