For the 20th anniversary of the NBA 2K sports series, 2K have decided to put one of the most recognisable and influential modern players on the cover: LeBron James. His playing career has encompassed three quarters of all NBA 2K games, which is kind of remarkable in its own way, but it’s just his second time as the cover star.
NBA 2K19 will be out for PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC on 11th September with a bunch of LeBron themed content, though a special Anniversary Edition will let people get stuck in a few days early on 7th September. That version will have a poster, sticker sheet and custom wristband with some special words on it, as well as a number of digital perks like 100,000 Virtual Currency and 50,000 MyTeam points – hopefully these are better balanced than last year – a LeBron MyTeam card, MyTeam packs, and more.
As last year, players can get a head start on their in-game career with the NBA 2K19: The Prelude demo, which will be available from 31st August.
