You just can’t catch that pesky bandicoot right now, as Crash spends yet another week at the top of the UK retail charts. This time, there’s been a trio of new games on his tail, but neither Lego The Incredibles, Octopatch Traveler nor the ports of Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker could catch him.
In fairness, The Incredibles isn’t the biggest possible brand for a Lego game, despite being a popular film, and GamesIndustry tells us that this and recent Lego games haven’t performed as strongly as they once did. Part of that will be down to the license, with The Incredibles’ release performance not matching last year’s Marvel Super Heroes 2 but coming out ahead of Ninjago: The Movie.
While Octopath Traveler didn’t hit the top of the charts, it sold more than double of its predecessors Bravely Default and Bravely Second, and would have been top of the charts if looking at the actual revenue and not units sold. Behind that in fourth were the ports of Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker for Switch and 3DS, where Switch had an overwhelming 93% of the sales. That said, the game’s first week were 40% lower than the original Wii U release.
