First Footage Of Henry Cavill In The Witcher Revealed, But Is He Grizzled Enough?

There’s been the usual moderately tedious controversy over the casting choices in Netflix’s forthcoming The Witcher series. With the first footage of Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, Netflix had the chance to resolve fan’s consternations. I’ll leave you to make up your own minds on how successful they’ve been, I think he looks a bit… wrong. He looks like the older brother of Legolas, the elder sibling who made some poor life choices. Maybe they can add a bit of grizzled facial hair in post?

From a performance point of view, Cavill looks like he’s attempting intensity in this very short clip, but instead only achieves mild confusion. What do you think?

The Witcher is coming to Netflix in 2019.

  1. Man that does not look natural at all. He looks like a cosplayer you’d see at a con. Hopefully this improves a lot with proper editing, or it will be hard to take seriously.

  2. That’s not reassuring.
