A few things seem to be happening a tiny bit earlier than intended in the run up to Microsoft’s XO18 show this weekend. First it was the free weekends for PUBG and PES 2019 confusingly going live before it was announced, and now you can download the original Crackdown for free from the Xbox Marketplace.

The game is Backward Compatible on Xbox One, but is also one of a small selection of games that are Xbox One X Enhanced, meaning it’s bumped up to 4K by the console.
This definitely feels like a prelude to some Crackdown-related stuff at XO18, with rumblings that the long delayed sequel might be rebranded to Crackdown 3: New Providence.
