Grid Autosport Is Being Ported To Nintendo Switch

In a surprising move, Feral Interactive have decided to port Grid Autosport to Nintendo Switch, planning to release it in 2019.

On the surface, porting a 2014 racing game to Switch over four years later makes barely any sense, but think about it a little longer and it actually isn’t a terrible idea. The Switch is really lacking in good racing games, but it’s not powerful enough for straight up ports of things like Project Cars or Assetto Corsa. Grid Autosport was Codemasters’ last main game that targeted the last generation, when they were struggling to rediscover what made their racing games great, and it offers a lighter take on motorsports that feels like it could fit Nintendo’s hybrid.

Feral Interactive previously ported Grid to Mac, iPhone and iPad ports of the game, so this ought to be in safe hands. You can catch our old review here.

  1. Eww.

  2. I remember quite liking Grid…. a long, long time ago. The Switch does really need some good racing games, but why not one of the Dirt games?!

  3. Oh this is great! So it’s an old game, oh well. Switch needs games full stop.
