Nintendo have claimed the top spot this week as Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has a huge launch with sales greater than the week one units for Pokemon: Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee combined.
Just Cause 4 can’t beat Red Dead, FIFA, Battlefield, or Mario Kart (which has a boost as part of a hardware package with Smash Bros. and a console) and wingsuits in to sixth place. PlayerUnkown’s Battlegrounds has launched on PS4 so jumps back in the charts, as does Sega Mega Drive Classics which also launched on a new platform, Nintendo Switch.

As if there was any doubt. Picked up a copy and had a blast with it all weekend. I’m not the world’s biggest Smash fan but meeting up with some mates, getting some beers in and playing this for hours was a lot of fun.
Will be interesting to hear how many Switches the game was able to shift. I’m not sure how close Nintendo are to their bold sales projections but this and January’s 2D Mario game will likely be their last heavy hitters before the deadline.
