Chris Kingsley, co-founder of Rebellion and chair of TIGA’s Education Committee has been awarded an OBE in Her Maj the Queen’s New Year’s Honours list. The full Bell & Ted-esque title that Chris can use is an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire.
Chris joins his brother and fellow Rebellion co-founder, Jason, who received his OBE in 2012. What a talented family! Obviously Her Maj was impressed with the stiff upper lips displayed in the very British Strange Brigade, what what!
“I am greatly honoured and very grateful to have been made an OBE in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours List,” said Chris. “This honour represents a recognition of the achievements of Rebellion and perhaps more importantly, the entire UK video games development industry.”
Congratulations to Chris!
In related news, Rebellion have just acquired Yorkshire-based studio TickTock Games. The studio most recently worked with Rebellion on Rogue Trooper Redux and the Nintendo Switch version of Battlezone Gold Edition and will now become Rebellion North.
