February’s PlayStation Plus games have been revealed and you’re getting two huge titles next month. Ubisoft’s melee action game For Honor headlines, a title that had good reviews (8/10) on launch and has since been patched and updated with loads of new content.
The second game is the entire first season of Hitman (which we also gave 8/10), obviously you’re getting this as a gateway drug to tempt you to buy Hitman 2. But wait, what’s that on the list of PlayStation 3 games? Only Metal Gear Solid 4! Quick, dig out the PS3!
To sum up, your games are:
- Hitman (PS4)
- For Honor (PS4)
- Divekick (PS3, PS Vita)
- Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (PS3)
- Gunhouse (PS4, PS Vita)
- Rogue Aces (PS4, PS Vita)
The games will be available for a little longer this time with the PS4 games leaving the service on 5th March and the PS3 and PS Vita games leaving on the 8th. Just a reminder, this is the last time you are getting PS3 and PS Vita games with PlayStation Plus.

MrYd
Was For Honor ever fixed? Tried it on one of the free trials and managed to finish a game without being disconnected about 1 in every half dozen times.
The other thing you didn’t mention was [REDACTED] Which should just about keep me going until the PS5 comes along. ([REDACTED] )
Tuffcub
Maybe we’re mentioning it somewhere else, smarty pants
MrYd
I’ve saved you a job now then.

ORLY
MrYd
Now you’re making more work for yourself by editing my post.
I guess it keeps you off the streets.
Tuffcub
I like going on the streets, where else am I going to show a bit of thigh and pick up work for the night?
MrYd
Keep your thighs covered up. It’s freezing out there.

I’ve wanted to give Hitman a try for some time but never got round to it, the Feb games are a good as time any to give it a go.
MrYd
Being on PS+ has reminded me to play it all again in Hitman 2. Which I haven’t got around to getting yet.
But as far as I can tell, you can download the free Hitman 2 Prologue, which is the training mission. Then you can download the “legacy pack”. Except you have to do that from within the first game.
So download 18GB of the Hitman 2 Prologue, along with 23GB of Hitman. Then start the first game and download the legacy pack from there. And then play it all in Hitman 2. Without the new Hitman 2 levels. Unless you want to buy that as well.
Or play both if you want twice as many trophies, I guess. That means twice as many plans going horribly wrong.
MrYd
Actually, you can download just the first 8GB of the first game, launch it as soon as it’s ready to play, and then download the legacy pack.
Possibly want to delete the first game at that point. Otherwise it’s going to be 100GB or more for all of it.
camdaz
Thanks, I wouldn’t have thought of all that. Nice and simple!
MrYd
Not sure I’d call it simple. Nice to be able to play it all in Hitman 2, even with just the free prologue version. But not simple.
It also appears you can upgrade the legacy pack to the GOTY version for £8. From the normal PSN store. (You could also buy the GOTY Legacy pack for £16 from the store, but that seems unnecessary).
So if you want everything from the first game to play in the sequel, you need to (a) download enough of the first to launch it, (b) “buy” the legacy pack from the ingame store and download that, (c) buy the GOTY upgrade from the proper PSN store, (d) download the free prologue for Hitman 2.
Yeah, simple really ;)

An ok month, I guess. Although I don’t really see the point in For Honor, I might give Hitman a go at some point. But MGS4? Come on, that’s definitely too old to throw at people.
Given it’s the last month for PS3 and Vita, they might as well have made an effort for these two platforms.
Tuffcub
MGS4 is one of the highest rated games on PS3. Also: All PS3 games are old.
Andrewww
MGS4 is one of the most overhyped games of last gen. Those games tend to have high ratings.
And it was released just over a year into the release of the PS4, that I call ‘old’. But ‘old’ is of course relative, I just went back to playing PS2 games on an original PS2 console… :-)
Byacca
Overhyped? MGS4 is one of the greatest games of all generations. That is why it has a high rating.
Andrewww
That’s another indicator a game is overhyped, if people claim it is ‘one of the greatest games of all generations’… ;-)
