Despite being hard at work on his fourth feature film, District 9 director Neill Blomkamp found time to team up with EA for an original live action film set in BioWare’s Anthem universe.
“I was really blown away by this incredible world BioWare created the very first time I saw Anthem,” said Neill Blomkamp. “Conviction sets the stage with a narrative that touches on Anthem’s beautiful and immersive world, which is ripe for exploration by these powerful Javelins. A world where danger is lurking on every ledge and in each valley.”
Titled Conviction, the full short will be released on Thursday 14th February through the Oats Studios YouTube channel. It’s set decades before the start of the game, where freelancers defend the bastions of mankind using Javelin exosuits, fighting the main villain and head of the Dominion, the Monitor. It’s the Dominion that are a returning foe within the main storyline of Anthem.
Anthem is out on 22th February, but you can start playing this Friday 15th February if you’ve got EA Access or Origin Access on Xbox One or PC, because staggered releases are wonderful and totally not confusing.
