Five seconds after a PEGI 18 warning, Nintendo showed a trailer for Mario Maker on Nintendo Switch, but it’s not just a port of the Wii U or 3DS versions of the game, it’s a full on numbered sequel coming in June 2019.
Digging into the trailer, there’s a few new features, with a Super Mario 3D World theme (but in 2D), an improved user interface with radial menus and more. You’ll be able to play with the improved slope creation, water, and more elements from the Mario series, as well. New enemies like the Sun, Porcupuffer and Cat Bullet Bill appear, as do Super Bell, parachute and 10 coin items.
This is looking like a pretty sizeable upgrade and iteration on the Wii U classic.
