The physical edition of Wolfenstein: Youngblood for Switch doesn’t have any physical media

Nintendo Switch owners looking forward to buying Wolfenstein: Youngblood might like to reconsider their purchasing options as it seems that the physical version of the game will be rather lacking. Rather than get a Switch cartridge purchasers will be presented with a code to download the digital version of the game.

Gamestop, Amazon, and Walmart all state “There is no physical cartridge for the game, the code for the game will be provided in box,” so you won’t be able to trade in the title once have finished playing.

Switch cartridges are rather expensive to produce, especially those with a higher capacity, so some games have included part of the title on cartridge and the rest as a download. This appears to be the first time you’ll just get an empty box and a bit of paper with a code on it.

Wolfenstein: Youngblood launches on July 26th for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
