UK Charts 11/05/19 – Days Gone is still number one

It’s another quiet week on the charts and the only new entry is Saints Row: The Third – The Full Package which debuts at No15, meaning Days Gone picks up a third week at the top. Mortal Kombat 11 remains in second spot even though the Switch version launched last week.

By the way, has anybody noticed what’s happened to this years Call of Duty? In previous years the latest CoD would be a firm fixture in top five, or top ten at least, for most of the following year.

  1. It seems like the mostly average reviews haven’t dented sales too much for Days Gone.

  2. Good! I hope all those reviewers who scored this less than 8 feel completely inadequate at their job. Sabotage of the worst kind. The people have spoken!

    • I absolutely love it and it’s the most fun I’ve had with a PS4 exclusive, by far.

      Having said that it’s not the most accomplished technically and there’s things I’d like to integrate/change, so on and so forth. I’d personally put it at a 7 but I generally think everything is scored too high.

      The critical reception was kind of embarrassing, the general notion that it was being unnecessarily hammered on or the sense that reviews were tossed out without completing the game was felt very highly and I think that has shown in the public response.

      In an industry where a poor critical reception can ruin a company and affect lives I’m just happy for Bend that it’s selling so well.

      Days Gone is a genuinely solid and fun title and I can’t wait to see what’s next from them.

  3. Couldn’t care less about Days Gone. Perfect launch timing though, with no other big new releases in sight, people will buy it just because.
