Until Dawn developer’s latest horror game, Man of Medan, is coming out this August

Going back to the genre they made the biggest splash with, Supermassive Games’ next game is Man of Medan, a first game in what they’re calling The Dark Pictures Anthology. Now working as a multiplatform studio, after having been almost entirely PlayStation exclusive, the company have announced that the game will be coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC on 30th August.

As part of the announcement, Bandai Namco and Supermassive have also unveiled some bonus content for pre-ordering the game. Now available at participating retailers, pre-orders will net you day one access to the Curator’s Cut, which offers an alternative path through the game from a new perspective. You’ll revisit previously played scenes, have new decisions and choices available to you that can transform those scenes and the way that the story unfolds, and even find entirely new scenes and new secrets that weren’t there in your first playthrough.

Executive Producer Pete Samuels said, “The Curator’s Cut is different to the traditional Director’s Cut as it gives the player new ways to directly influence the story and its outcomes. […] It adds a whole new layer to how the player understands and interacts with the story in a way that’s never been done before, and we’re excited for people to experience it.”

Man of Medan follows a group of characters as they end up stranded on a spooky and definitely very haunted boat in the middle of the South Pacific ocean. As with Until Dawn, your decisions will change the way that the story flows, determining who lives and who dies along the way.

We played the game last year and had a great time with it. Sure, it pulls on some of the classic horror tropes, but it looks fantastic and will definitely get your heart pumping a bit faster! Make sure to check out our hands on Man of Medan preview if it’s tickling your fancy.

So, brace yourselves for The Dark Pictures: Man of Medan, when it arrives for PS4, Xbox One and PC on 30th August.
