FIFA Street is reborn with Volta Football in FIFA 20, out in September [Updated]

EA have got things going a bit before their EA Play streams start at 5:30 PM BST today, unveiling FIFA 20 and a new mode that looks an awful lot like the old FIFA Street series. Introducing Volta Football:

As always, FIFA 20 will be coming out for PS4, Xbox One and PC on 24th September. Notably, after two entries on the Nintendo Switch, the platform isn’t mentioned.

Update: Nintendo confirm that FIFA 20 will be coming to Switch, but it’s unknown if the new features and modes will be making the jump.

Volta Football is a new take on smaller versions of football, giving you tons of different game types, including 3v3 Rush with no goalkeepers, 4v4, 4v4 Rush, 5v5 and Professional Futsal. There’ll be different sizes of arena to play in, both with and without walls, taking you from an underpass in Amsterdam to a cage in London or a Tokyo rooftop.

All of the other modes from FIFA also feed into Volta, with a Volta Story Mode, Volta Kick-Off, online Volta League and a mode where you build a squad called Volta World (which sounds a lot like FIFA Ultimate Team). For the career and certain modes, you’ll be able to customise your character with both male and female avatars, a range of different clothing, different hairstyles, tattoos and celebrations.

There’s bound to be more to FIFA 20, but Volta will likely be the focus of the EA Play stream for the game that’s due to run for 30 minutes at 7PM BST tonight.

You can watch the EA Play stream at our dedicated E3 streams page – which will be updated throughout the weekend to always feature the latest press conferences. Additionally, if you just want to keep tabs on all the latest news, head to our E3 hub for all the latest news, headlines and features.
