Bryan Cranston is not playing Sully in the Uncharted movie

Rumours of Bryan Cranston joining the cast of the Uncharted movie have been swirling around for quite a while now and it seemed obvious who he would be playing – Sully. That rumour has been put to rest by the director of the movie, Dan Trachtenberg, who was asked if Cranston would be playing the cranky adventurer.

“Not as Sully, none of that Sully stuff is based in…,” said Trachtenberg, who then paused, clearly not wishing to reveal any details.

“Bryan Cranston is awesome, it might be cool,” he continued, “But we’re not there yet with that. And all of that stuff is based on an older draft, and older… Actually, frankly, I think that was always rumour. All of that Sully stuff is rumour and based on old stuff.”

“I mean, [Sully]’s in the movie obviously, but we have not started any casting talks with me being at the helm,” he added.

The Uncharted movie is currently set for release on December 18th 2020 and will star Spider-Man, aka Tom Holland, who will play a younger version of Nathan Drake, with the movie set way before the games.

  1. So he’s in the movie, just not as Sully.

I always thought Bryan Cranston would make a good Elena.

  2. Go for Stephen Lang.
