Concrete Genie will be out this October, digital deluxe edition and new trailer revealed

PlayStation 4 exclusive Concrete Genie will be hitting the shelves and the PlayStation Store on the 9th October 2019. To go with the news a new trailer has been released which show a new game mechanic ‘Paint Skating’.


The price has been revealed and somewhat surprisingly it will be just £24.99 / €29.99 for the standard edition and £34.99 / €39.99 for the digital deluxe edition. Both editions include two PlayStation VR modes which require two PlayStation Move controllers, and they have also confirmed that a Photo Mode will be available at launch.

“We have added a special feature to it – a timelapse style ‘Replay’ that allows you to show how you put your artistic compositions together,” explains Dominic Robilliard, Creative Director of Pixelopus. “We can’t wait to see the images and clips of the artwork you’ll create once you get your hands on this feature.”

The digital deluxe edition adds a few extra trinkets. “You get a Digital Artbook featuring a ton of stunning development images created by Art Director Jeff Sangalli and our amazing art team,” says Dominic, “A complete soundtrack from the game composed by Sam Marshall, a Pond Design Pack to expand your design toolset, and an additional Dynamic Theme featuring the Lighthouse location from the game.”

Those who pre-order the game via the PlayStation Store will get an specialset of Avatars and a dynamic theme featuring a rooftop scene from Denska, with special music composed by Sam Marshall. The game follows an artistically talented, but bullied kid called Ash who finds a magic paint brush that creates living paintings. Ash must rescue his hometown of Denska from a mysterious darkness and paint it back to life. The art created by Ash can be used to solve puzzles, and may even follow him around.
