Shovel Knight Dig has the knight head underground in this sequel

Yacht Club Games has announced that the next major Shovel Knight game is called Shovel Knight Dig, in which players will be trying to chase down Drill Knight underground who keeps burrowing putting the whole surface in danger. The game will have procedurally created levels so playthroughs will be different each time. Players will run into new lands while digging as well as new enemies to bash with Shovel Knight’s shovel. The game is being co-developed with Nitrome, but a release date and platforms are yet to be confirmed.

Shovel Knight Dig wasn’t the only annoucement from Yacht Club Games.

Shovel Knight Showdown is one of the free updates heading to Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove in which players can face off in up to four players can battle locally in an attempt to collect gems, with all Shovel Knight characters being playable. In Story Mode players will be able to choose the character they want to run through the campaign with. If you’re hoping for this update to be released on 3DS and Vita well there’s bad news as Yacht Club Games has confirmed that Showdown will not be appearing on those platforms.

Finally, there’s the new and final expansion in the form of King of Cards where players will be able to play as King Knight who goes off on his own adventure. Once again King of Cards will be free to owners of Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove.
