It might not be the same bat-time, same-bat channel, but fans of Fortnite will want to tune in tomorrow to see what Epic Games are cooking up with an upcoming Fortnite x Batman crossover event.
The reveal stream will kick off at 1PM UK time on Saturday 21st September, and here’s an embedded YouTube link for ease:
You’re probably thinking to yourself, “Oh, so that’s why you can get all those Batman games for free on the Epic Games Store.” The company have clearly struck a deal with Warner Bros. and DC Comics, most likely celebrate Batman’s 80th anniversary, and part of that is giving away a bucketload of games, and the other trying to get some of that sweet, sweet Fortnite popularity to rub off on the Dark Knight.
After all, we’ve seen the hype and engagement (and outrage at ridiculous gameplay imbalance) that previous Fortnite events for Avengers: Infinity War, John Wick, Borderlands 3 and even just American Football have managed.
But while you wait, if you own a PC and aren’t outraged at the mere existence of the Epic Games Store and how Fortnite profits being used to prop up parts of the games industry, why not go and grab two trilogies of Batman game? This including Batman: Arkham Asylum, Batman: Arkham City, Batman: Arkham Knight, LEGO Batman, LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes, and LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham. You have until September 26th.
