Naughty Dog’s long-awaited sequel to The Last of Us was the climactic highlight of tonight’s State of Play broadcast and it did not disappoint.
This was the game’s release date reveal, with Sony confirming that you’ll be able to get your hands on the highly anticipated sequel on 21st February 2020.
In the latest trailer Ellie seeks to get her revenge on a group that has caused her some real emotional pain. We get our first glimpse of some current gen clickers, some of the pain and anguish as she seeks revenge, but we also see that she isn’t going in alone. A familiar old face comes to join the fight as Joel makes his appearance to fight side by side with her.
They’ve also shown off some fancy pants collector’s editions that I’m sure eager fans will snap up as soon as they can throw inordinate amounts of money at Sony.
The Collector’s Edition, features a 12″ Ellie statue, a replica of her bracelet, a custom steelbook case, 48-page mini art book, six enamel pins, lithograph art print and some stickers. There’s also a PS4 dynamic theme, six PSN avatars and digital copies of the soundtrack and art book. It’s also been confirmed the game comes on two discs.

Step down to the mere Special Edition and you’ll have the steelbook case, art book and digital contents, while the Digital Deluxe edition just has those digital thingamabobs.
If you pre-order any version of the game, you get these in-game unlocks at launch:
- Ammo Capacity Upgrade: Instantly unlock an ammo capacity upgrade for Ellie’s pistol.
- Crafting Training Manual: Instantly unlock the Crafting Training Manual, which provides access to new crafting recipes and upgrades.
“We’re making a game about the cycle of violence and we’re making a statement about violent actions and the impact they have on the character that’s committing them and on the people close to them,” explained Naughty Dog’s creative director Neil Druckmann last year. “And our whole approach is to say, ‘We want to treat this as realistically as possible.’ When you stab someone—if you watch reference videos, which we have, it’s gross and it’s messy and it’s not sanitized like you see in most movies and games. And we wanted to get the player to feel that.”
One last thing…
Now can you please leave me alone about the release date. ❤️

Thought it was uninspiring to be honest…much like the Walking Dead its more about humans than the infected.
Still a day one purchase and the story will be epic but this trailer was nowhere near as good as the first trailer.
MOVE
I’m not sure it will make people feel bad or anything the likes…
