Project xCloud Preview now has 50 games, will stream your games and Game Pass in 2020

Microsoft have outlined the continued evolution of their budding game streaming service Project xCloud, adding games to the xCloud Preview library, outlining new platforms and controller support (including the DualShock 4), and announcing some of the regions that it will be coming to through 2020.

Currently available in the US, UK and South Korea, Project xCloud Preview was initially limited to just a handful of games, but that library has now expanded rapidly to include 50 games, including Madden NFL 20, Devil May Cry 5 and Tekken 7. You’ll find the full list below.

However, the Preview is currently extremely limited, only supporting those three countries and a particularly subset of hardware. In 2020, Microsoft will be bringing Project xCloud to Japan, Canada, Western Europe and India. The last of these is intended to try and break out of traditional console gaming markets and bring the Xbox platform to a new audience.

You’ll also be able to play on more hardware. iOS support is still waiting in the wings, but Project xCloud will come in 2020 to Windows 10 PCs. You’ll also be able to play with more than just an Xbox One wireless controller. They’re adding support for more general Bluetooth controllers, and yes, that will include the PlayStation 4’s DualShock 4. So if you really want to play Gears 5 with a symmetrical game pad, you’ll be able to.

Not only that, but in 2020 the service will start to let you stream the games that you own and will also stream games from your Xbox Game Pass subscriptions.

If you currently have an Android phone, Xbox One controller and have a good internet connection in the US, UK or South Korea, you can sign up to try out the service here. Microsoft are inviting more and more of those who register, so you might as well!
