The Epic Games Store has had its weekly refresh for free games with Kingdom Come Deliverance and Aztez now available to download at no cost. What is different about this week is that Epic Games has not confirmed what next week’s titles will be, so that will remain a surprise for a little while longer. You’ll find the download links for each game below.
Dave reviewed Kingdom Come Deliverance in 2018 and at the time wrote:
If Kingdom Come: Deliverance has a ton of bug fixing to improve the performance drastically, it could be a hidden gem. It’s clear that the game, despite its grand ambitions, was simply not ready for public consumption. Shimmers of brilliance are there and had it seen more time in the oven, or set its ambitions at a more reasonable level, it could have been brilliant and scored significantly higher as a result. Alas, Kingdom Come: Deliverance is another cautionary tale rather than a trend setter.
It didn’t review well at the time due to gameplay issues but since then the team behind the game, Warhorse Studios, has improved the experience. Plus, it’ll be free next week so you may as well claim it and give it a go.
Aztez is a beat ’em up and turn-based strategy hybrid developed by Team Colorblind. The full blurb states:
Brutally satisfying beat-em-up combat, set in the Aztec empire. Choose your fights in a turn-based metagame. Aztez is a unique hybrid of beat ’em up and turn-based strategy set in the world of the Aztec Empire. Deploy your Aztez (elite close combat warriors) in the metagame and enjoy a highly technical real-time combat event that has consequences in the empire.
The game has received some good reviews and currently sits at 82 rating on opencritic.
