Back in August, TaleWorlds announced that Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord would be entering early access at some point in March 2020 but did not give an exact release date. Today, that has changed. Taking to Twitter the developer confirmed that Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord would be entering early access on March 31st. The game will be available on Steam, Epic Games Store, and through TaleWorlds website directly. It will be priced at £39.99/$49.99/€49.99.

Here’s the official blurb:
The horns sound, the ravens gather. An empire is torn by civil war. Beyond its borders, new kingdoms rise. Gird on your sword, don your armour, summon your followers and ride forth to win glory on the battlefields of Calradia. Establish your hegemony and create a new world out of the ashes of the old.
TaleWorlds has not revealed what exactly will be available in the early access release of Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord, but the studio will be releasing those details shortly before release.
When I reviewed the original Mount & Blade: Warband for console I wrote:
Mount & Blade: Warband is a tough game, but at the same time you’ll lose hours to it just through trying to rise through the ranks in Calradia. At the beginning so many lords will look down on you that you want to prove them wrong. It is a game where you will face multiple setbacks, but with each a lesson is learnt. The tasks may seem menial at first, but when you get in your first proper big battle with all the chaos of swords clashing, archers firing arrows, and cavalry charging the game just comes together. Mount & Blade: Warband is one of the hardest games I’ve played and that just makes it so very satisfying when you succeed.
