Having witnessed a triumphant comeback thanks to Activision’s recent remasters, Crash Bandicoot is once again one of gaming’s most popular mascots.
However, the mischievous marsupial has slipped under the radar with the launch of his newest game, Crash Bandicoot Mobile.
Created by King, the Activision Blizzard owned studio behind Candy Crush, a version of this spin-off is currently available to play but there’s a catch.
Crash Bandicoot Mobile has only been rolled out in Malaysia. Upon further investigation by Pocket Gamer, King have confirmed that this is an early playtest open to select players from this region. They have also stated that an official release date for other regions is forthcoming.
With that said, you can find Crash Bandicoot Mobile over on the official Google Play Store where it can be added to your wishlist. Here’s a description of the game given by King:
A new kind of Crash adventure featuring your favorite characters! Crash & Coco team up to put a stop to Dr Neo Cortex’s evil plan to destroy the multiverse!
In this new mobile episode, Dr Neo Cortex has dispatched mutagen henchmen across the multiverse to enslave all dimensions. With the help of his sister Coco, Crash must bash Cortex’s minions back to their own dimensions!
Users have already been uploading gameplay of Crash Bandicoot Mobile giving us a good idea of how King has adapted the 3D platformer for touchscreen devices. Similar to games such as Temple Run, you’ll guide Crash or Coco through levels, tapping and swiping to navigate each course, dodging obstacles, and scooping up Wumpa fruit along the way.
Of course, this may not be the Crash Bandicoot game some fans were hoping to see next. Rumours of a potential PS5 Crash sequel continue to surface as well as speculation that Activision may double dip for another trio of Crash remasters.
