Destroy All Humans! remake re-invasion date is set for July

As if 2020 couldn’t get any worse, we’re going to suffer a brutal alien invasion this summer, as the remake of Destroy All Humans! has been handed a release date by THQ Nordic. That’s right Crypto’s re-invasion is set to take place on 28th July, the game coming out for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

The remake is being handled by Black Forest Games, best known for Fade to Silence and Gianna Sisters: Twisted Dreams, taking the 2005 game and sprucing it up for modern systems. The game follows Crypto around as he goes on a one alien invasion spree, collecting human brains, because… reasons, and flying around in his saucer and beaming up cows, also because reasons.

Needless to say it was an oddball hit from the PS2 era, and it’s all been spruced up for modern systems – the 2016 re-release was just the original put through the PS2 Classics emulator on PS4. There’s one key addition, though.A mission that was cut from the original, simply known as the Lost Mission of Area 42, has been recovered from some dusty old hard drives and is set to be included as a nice bonus for fans of the series.

The game is available to pre-order at retail on all platforms or digitally on Xbox One and PC. There’s a bit of a price disparity here, with the PC version SRP set for €29.99 / $29.99 / £24.99, while PS4 and Xbox One SRP is €39.99 / $39.99 / £34.99.

Alternatively, you can spend TEN TIMES AS MUCH on the Crypto-137 Edition. Costing as much as an entire games console, at €399.99 / $399.99 / £349.99, it features a Crypto-137 figurine, a Crypto backpack, keychain, six lithographs, anti-stress toy and all in-game Crypto skins, all contained within a premium box.

That makes the €149.99 / $149.99 / £139.99 DNA Collector’s Edition almost seem reasonably prices. That features a Crypto’N’Cow figurine, keychain, six lithographs, anti-stress toy, and all in-game Crypto skins, also in a premium box.

I guess there’s got to be some ultra-hardcore DAH fans out there…
